Not everyone has an account in your Active Directory. Sometimes you need to work with people outside the organization. Whether you’re working with customers, vendors or partners, you’ll need to figure out how to implement forms authentication— and how to manage the users. Password expiration, forgotten passwords, and the need to delegate the permission to create accounts are all real issues you need to be able to deal with.

In this session, we’ll walk you through the setup of a farm for forms-based authentication (via claims) and implement some of the key account management features you’ll need (with the help of some reusable code).

Our presenter this month is Rob Bogue. Rob has contributed to more than 100 book projects and numerous other publishing projects. His book, "The SharePoint Shepherd's Guide for End Users," has being updated for SharePoint 2010 and is now available. You can find out more about it and how to purchase it at http://www.sharepointshepherd.com. Rob blogs at www.thorprojects.com/blog.
